Privacy Policy

At CarFinder, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect in the following ways:

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share information as described below, including limited advertising measurement information with OpenAI when that measurement is enabled. Advertising click references can be linkable identifiers; we do not describe them as anonymous.

4. Payment methods

If you choose to pay for the Service using a credit card or PayPal account, your payment method details are not stored by us. All supplied credit card and other sensitive information is encrypted and securely stored by a reputed third party credit card processor (payment gateway). All recurring credit card or PayPal account charges are authorized in advance by you. You have the right to not provide us your credit card or PayPal account information by not using our paid plans.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously and implement appropriate measures, such as encryption and secure storage, to protect it. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use first-party cookies to maintain your session and remember preferences. For advertising measurement, an incoming OpenAI click reference may be stored in dedicated server-side advertising records and a queued delivery payload. New session and application-review records carry an opaque attribution key instead of the click reference. A separate first-party cookie contains a random browser preference key, not your contact details or a consent grant.

Turn off advertising measurement

You can turn off this advertising measurement without affecting signup or your account. This choice applies to this browser and is saved only when we confirm it below. It prevents later collection and sending of pending measurement events for the saved browser preference. It cannot recall events already sent or in flight.

We remember your opt-out using a browser cookie with a 180-day lifetime. A stored opt-out continues to block measurement when we can associate it with your browser, even after its recorded expiry. Cookie expiry or deletion, or using another browser, can prevent us from recognizing your choice on future visits. You can use this control again to save an opt-out for the browser you are using.

Measurement records and retention

Newly captured advertising click references expire for measurement use 30 days after their original capture. Reading a reference, applying for a trial, later approval and delivery retries do not restart that period. A queued event whose reference expires is suppressed rather than retried with a different reference. A request already dispatched cannot be recalled.

Scheduled cleanup removes expired raw click references, the local lookup hashes used to recognize them and their queued delivery copies, including while measurement is disabled. Thirty days is the use cutoff, not a guaranteed physical deletion deadline: batching, backlog, missed cleanup runs and outages can delay removal. Older session copies, historical logs and backups may retain references longer. Local cleanup does not delete information already received by OpenAI.

We retain saved opt-out records and minimal event records used to prevent counting the same trial more than once. These records include opaque identifiers and internal account links; they are distinct from raw click references and their lookup hashes and remain outside automatic deletion. The account links stay internal and are not sent to OpenAI by this integration.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date below.
